Was hoping for some change in temperature during this typhoon, but no. Nothing changed, still very very very hot, with a few gust of wind

Tama naman sabi ng PAGASA na hindi siya mag-landfall at mag-curve siya pa-north.

Pretty good outcome all things considered. At least we got a few windy days out of it.

Lately I've been seeing caller IDs from calls received from numbers not in my contact list. Is this the effect of SIM registration? Not complaining as it allows me to reject credit card companies and other "cold callers".

I think those are supposed to be pagelinks. AFAIK Globe blocks links sent via SMS, even email addresses.

from what i know, pagelinks are just not sent/received.  di lang talaga dadating.  not blank

i just realized, i received links for tracking my food delivery orders on my globe number.  from shakeys and kfc.  seems like globe would block if it was sent from a mobile number.  but when its sent using KFC and Shakeys (no mobile number) it goes through.  its the tracking link where you can see the location of your food orders

i tried sending links to myself.  walang dumadating pero marked as delivered.  probably depends on what app/phone is being used?  mas maganda yan sa inyo na may dumating.  so you can ask the other person why he sent a blank text.  sakin walang dumadating pero marked as received

Ordered from mcdelivery app earlier and after 40minutes of no movement from the app, I contacted customer support and told them to cancel, chat support confirmed to cancel it and I made breakfast. after 30minutes foodpanda came knocking with my delivery; I told him that I already cancelled and (it pains me to do it, but I already had my breakfast, and besides mcdo csr already confirmed to cancel - I also don't have foodpanda account), a few minutes later a call from an indian callcenter for foodpanda asking for questions I can't understand (very very thick accent, can't really understand her), and just told her to call mcdonalds for whatever they need to ask me (since I can't understand her)

I can see this as a problem of outsourcing, and the ones having issues are the outsourced party (foodpanda rider) and the customer (me), instead of me and mcdonalds. :(

so did the Rider have to pay for that order + Gas?

never did use any store apps & just used Food Panda so far no problem except for one that was delivered to another house with pictures even, complained to CS & the problem was resolved - refund.

even those spilled soup or veggies you can complain with the CS from food panda & once it is confirmed that it was the stores/ riders problem they immediately fix the problem

I can't use food panda since it can't find my address and the pin on map sends it ot another address (a few blocks away), same with jolibee and grab, so far only McDo and Shakeys app works so that's the only 2 I use (nasa paanan kasi kami ng bundok)

my mcdonalds app orders are usually delivered by grab.  thats odd that foodpanda delivered yours...  and yeah, it seems to be foodpanda cause the girl that called you had indian accent.  i had a call from foodpanda as well before and he also had an indian accent

yup.  satisfied with the CS of foodpanda.  mistakes in orders are refunded as long as you have strong evidence to support it.  and its best to have it refunded via pandapay cause it instant.  i just buy another thing in foodpanda using pandapay

I guess some are trying to scam the system that's why they really need hard proof of the booboo that was made either by the driver or the store

I frequently order McDonalds for breakfast, so far, 90% of the time it's the McDonalds delivery that do it, and 10% of the time it's outsourced to either grab or foodpanda, so i'm used to be being delivered by them (I just think that it's a busy day for the Mcdo riders so they outsource it) -- also, when I'm bored I just do drive-thru, and I'm seeing a line of grab and foodpanda riders just waiting outside of the store.

Already happened before that it was really late and I already cancelled, and a Mcdo rider delivered it, so they just turned around when I refused to accept, It's just that when they outsource it, and they fuck up, it affects the livelihood of the grab/foodpanda riders (and I won't just accept out of pity because of that)

grab/foodpanda compensates the riders right?  i think its their company policy that the foodpanda riders get paid even if the customer is fictitious.  its just that some riders abuse this where they declare that they cannot find the customer so they would get income both from foodpanda and the orders they did not deliver.  from what i understand, the riders just need to report to grab/foodpanda that there was a problem with the customer (fake/cannot be found) and they will be compensated accordingly

I heard one story where someone paid for delivery order with cash. Rider said there might be an incoming call and to just ignore it.

Curious about the whole thing this person takes the call, and it was someone asking if he had indeed refused the order.

Turns out the rider reported the order as rejected by customer after taking the cash payment.

Feels great paying for everything using credit cards or e-wallets. Handling cash (and change) with delivery riders is something I'm glad I don't to have to do anymore.
