I'm now satisfied with my CPU speed on default settings...

what I'm so focused on now is how to maintain high internet speed on my mobile device when I'm not home or in the office. lol

Also, Intel didn't bother with disabling stuff, so those same Celerons could run in SMP when given a server board to work with. Glory days of unlocking and overclocking when tweaks resulted in very real performance increases and genuine bang for the buck. These days you have to start off with the top of the line K chips before you can even begin to OC.

The Haswell Pentium G3258 would be an exemption to that. There seems to be no Skylake equivalent to it though.

Skylake i5 6400, MSI Z170A Krait, 2x4GB HyperX Fury DDR4 Memory, Galax GTX 1070 Virtual Edition, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2 SSD, Seagate SSHD 500GB, 4TB Seagate, Silverstone 600 watts SFX PSU, Jonsbo RM1 21 Liter ATX Case, Dell U2913WM 29" Ultrawide, Dell UP2414Q 24" 4K monitor.

Lol, unless you fry the processor from overheating or overvolting, by the time electromigration has creeped up to it, it would already be too old of a processor to begin with.

you'll be upgrading before your processor hits its lifespan :D

^ me three

but i did manage to do a stable 4.15 ghz at around 1v or 1.1v i think, generally manual oc just gives me better temps vs PBO.  max oc around the same.
