update:

just installed an additional 2GB Kingston DDR2 800...
now i can't run it on 4:5 ratio... the new ram can't handle 500MHz... BOO!!!!!!!!!

depends on your cooling and specific processor, each processor has it's own max oc levels (mileage)

i'd suggest get some temp monitors and benchmark softwares first, and see if your current settings is ok for OC (room for temp increase)
and then isolate each maximum frequencies of: FSB, RAM and Processor

when you up the fsb, ram and processor will go up as well, so you just have to lower the multipliers....
to up the ram, increase the fsb:ram multiplier, and lower the processor multiplier
and then for the processor, up the processor multiplier, and lower the ram multiplier.....

from that data, you could mix and match the best oc you could have.

be sure to increase the frequency in small increments only..

Currently, my cores' temp play between 32C to 34C.  I have Freezer 7 Pro.  I also found out my C2D 2.0GHz (E2180) can run up to 3.07GHz.

However, I read I can't do much with my MSI P965 Neo when it comes to OC...  or I may be wrong.  So I think I just have to wait for an upgrade opportunity.  :-)

just do what i always do, oc like hell if there's a replacement waiting already... hahahahaha....

mahirap nang masiraan ng hardware, baka kailanganin bigla..... or use it as an excuse to upgrade. LOL

anyway..... yeah, i think p965s won't oc as high as those p35s and other new chipsets, but you should still be able to squeeze at least 800MHz with that.

Switched to an Intel P45 motherboard.  OC'ed the FSB from 266MHz to 333MHz with ease, I'm now on 2.67GHz from 2.13GHz if I'm not mistaken.  Running on DDR3 1333MHz as well.

I haven't run any benchmarks but my processor score on Windows Experience Index improved from 6.9 to 7.2 (0.1 higher than the Core i3 2100 rig, and 0.1 lower than the Core i5 750 rig).  i know it's not a really good measure for performance, but still, i'm happy my Xeon rig got a more stable motherboard.

edit: 266MHz to 333MHz not 233MHz to 333MHz.

I've tested 400FSB by dropping to an x8 multi, but at that configuration the idle state is as fast as stock and leads to zero power savings lol. 9x333 is my preferred OC, but most of the time I run it stock (don't need anything faster for torrents and media player)

Anyways the board can take it, but my CPU runs red hot beyond 3GHz. 3GHz is already pushing 70-75c under gaming, 80c+ under maximum CPU load (prime95 small FFTs, IBT).

I aso just realized it's about 3 or 4 years late to be posting this. =P

HAHAHA, these processors are already 4 or 5 generations old.  sorry i have no budget for a new gen processor, it can still peform the tasks i need to do. 

maybe after editing some photos, i'll try to go to 400FSB, HAHAHA. i'm hoping this Termalright IFX-14 can handle the added heat.  for now it's 8x333. LOL

It's been running for almost 7 1/2 years now.  I don't find the need to buy a new PSU for it.
And it's to force my mom to buy a new PC if ever it breaks down.  She can't even play 720p movies with the old thing.
