Something serious naman:  PH wasting thousands of tons of rice per year

http://ph.news.yahoo.com/ph-wasting-thousands-of-tons-of-rice-per-year.html

Quote
"When not wasted, (the rice) could result in import savings as high as P10 billion and could feed 4.3 million hungry Filipinos in a year," PhilRice said on its website.

Imagine what we could do/build with P10 billion a year.

That's very odd for an explosion of that size to have the primary vessel containing the fuel to still be intact.

How did the tanker crash in the first place?

How did the tanker crash in the first place?

I can't verify the authenticity of this story but... apparently, tanker didn't crash... it wasn't a traffic accident. If I got my facts straight, the tanker was transferring the highly flammable gas to the building's storage tanks when a leak occurred... the leak unfortunately went unnoticed for quite sometime. So the build up of the flammable gas was enough to level the building when a possible spark triggered the explosion.

The driver of the tanker was held for questioning since he was the one responsible for ensuring a leak-free connection between the storage tanks, hoses, etc.
