about a year ago, P 500 of gas will get my fuel needle past the half full mark. now even a thousand pesos of gas fill up have trouble reaching that same mark. 500 pesos isnt even enough anymore to get you around the metro for a day.

Life's like that.

Yesterday evening, our company driver drove to manila to deliver our goods. Talagang tinandaan nya price- 53 pesos at around 9pm. He was done 3 hours later and came back to gas up and got greeted by a 55 bucks/liter sign.

    wala ka nang magagawa kundi hanapin ang comical side of it...  

hindi ba bumaba actually ang crude oil from 132$ to12X$? And AFAIK bawal ang news blackout regarding price increase (eh di nagpa full tank na nga ang karamihan kung alam lang natin.) Politically accomodated nga lang talaga ang namumuno sa DOE (if it's still Angelo Reyes- a one guy hard to accuse of being squeaky clean.)

... I remember coming home to laguna and was amazed to see three shell stations (two cities) having the same price to the very last cent: P50.22. And that was just 3, 4 weeks ago... it might as well be last year.  


...I get 12km/l on a '99 1.6Li civic btw. My gas expenses run about P~2.7K a month,usually more if I have sidetrips. How bout you guys?

Hindi bumaba. Actually tumaas by $5 nung thursday, and $10 yesterday. Price is now $138/barrel.

Expected ata na tataas pa. At this rate, kulang pa yung price increase na P2.00/li, kasi yung 2 petot pambawi pa lang nila sa global price increase last week. Expect another 2 pesos increase next week.

Yung two pesos increase this week nabalita sya, I heard it on radio on the way to work wednesday morning. They were discussing how price would need to increase by two pesos between thursday and friday, and were mulling the idea of having two separate 1 peso increases or one big jump. I guess people are just numb to price increase news now that it doesn't make the front page anymore, and is less reported in mainstream media (i heard the report on AM, but never heard it once on the FM stations I listen to).

Mababawasan ang carjackings at carnappings (kung meron man, aabangan ka sa gas pump pagkatapos mo magpakarga). Dadami ang agaw-bisikleta.

yup, its a worldwide event (puwera na lang siguro sa middle east and some oil exporting countries in south america). Huling karga ko last month (2 weeks ago) nasa $3.99 (per gallon) lang, nung isang araw $4.39 na. 10% in 2 weeks.
By mid july baka $5 na daw. 

I kept a record of all my gas fill-ups since 2005 in the same gas station, here's a chart:

yung trend nung past 3 years bumababa ang price ng June to October. Pero this year June na pero pataas pa rin.

not much we can do about it. oil is a finite resource and the demand for it is very high.

the best that we can do is to plan our trips well, walk/bike short distances, carpool, etc.

the government OTOH would do well to promote CNG for PUBs and eJeepneys for short routes, and also encourage research into alternative fuels.

I drive a diesel pickup and share the gas bills with my bro. just a few months ago 1,000 would be enough for a week's use to and from the office (bulacan-ortigas) but now 1,500 isnt enough especially if its traffic and/or we have a few detours.

It's really not a good time to have a car. I even have some officemates who used to drive their car to work everyday. Ngayon nagjejeep na lang. The viable alternative solution that is currently available are hybrids but its becoming useless having the 10% oil increase every month/week.
