Problematic SATA drive. >:(
« on: January 28, 2007, 05:47:33 PM »
This is frustrating me. Sobrang luwang ng saksakan ng kable ng SATA, not like the IDE cables which feel firm and secure.

And now I'm hearing my SATA HDD zing more often. It's only a matter of time till my PC hangs again.

what do you mean "zing?"

imheretohelp21,

I'm sure they are. I've got 2 SATA cables. One supplied by my mobo and the other supplied by the SATA HDD. Never been used before, ever, so they're practically both in mint condition.

My WinXP doesn't have SP1 installed, so I've got a pretty good feeling na sobrang luwang lang talaga nung sockets. I'll try to relocate the SATA HDD somewhere para mas medyo "comfortable" yung cable. Thanks for the link though.

sounds like you need a "secureconnect sata cable."   its included with retail WD hard drives but im not sure it would work with other brands.

Looks like exactly what I need. Thanks for the link.

Tried buying a sata cable from Octagon and Silicon Valley. They have none. Back in the day these stores sold pc parts. I guess desktops are losing popularity.

totally moving towards mobile/ tab/ laptop device nowadays

only dedicated work stations & gamers are going for desktop & with the current price of RAM & VGA's the average user would rather go for a notebook or tablet instead.

parang ano?

It's 50 each... 2 right angled connectors and 2 straight connectors
