well... this duracell one only needs two AA batteries.

I knew it's possible with a DC-DC converter like the LT1302 chip on the Minty Boost. I was just  skeptical that a P88 powerbank would have such a chip. You have a real good bargain then if it can charge your phone.

happy to report that it works :) plugged in my phone at 40% battery and after around 40mins of charging, it's back up to 80%.  here's a photo of the item:

batteries and cable (courtesy of my wife) not included in the package.

i'll prolly just leave this with some eneloops or energizer batteries in the car or in the corner of my bag for those really emergency times i need some extra juice.  i don't usually have problems running out of power on my phone but having this around is pretty good too.
