Nokia = Microsoft

Nokia is now Microsoft. Sorry, it's a week old news, but most people still do not know about it.

Microsoft officially acquires Nokia's devices & services units

The moment Elop stepped in as Nokia's CEO, it was pretty much an MS company already.  Like Blackberry, Nokia's failure to quickly adapt to the rapidly changing market will lead to their (eventual) demise.  The last Nokia phone I had was the N9, which IMO was the last of the true Nokia-made phone.  It had a promising platform but then Elop killed it.

Like blackberry, Nokia was caught in a bad place.
Can't change their os because of established app base. Can't open their os or lose exclusivity.

What they needed to do was something only Microsoft had done so far during the dos to windows transition.

I totally agree. All phones after that isn't really Nokia in characteristics anyway.
