Copy songs and install files on iPhone without iTunes?
« on: June 20, 2013, 01:43:41 PM »
Let's say I have an iPhone and I don't want to install iTunes ever. Is there an alternative app or way for me to copy songs over to my iPhone and to install apps?

Is installous still alive? AFAIK, if I jailbreak I can install apps using that.

To install apps, there is no need for iTunes, just do it directly via the App Store applet. For songs, I think you need to Jailbreak or downgrade the firmware.

Installous is dead.

I use iFunBox for everything else.  If you can jailbreak you can use that to install apps.  You just need AppSync to be installed via Cydia and you're ready.

Alternatively, you can use vShare to download and install directly to you iDevice.

App store applet is in the core firmware for iPhone 4?

vShare looks promising. I don't think jailbreaking is in the options right now for the user as they don't see themselves installing paid stuff.
