Looks like mas mura import. Pwede pa maglagay ng extra batteries. Pag bumili ba ako sa hobbyking, yan na lahat lahat? O may hidden charges pa? Diretso na yan sa bahay at wala nang additional tax sa customs? Covered na ba ng quoted na shipping yung customs fees? Diretso na ba yan sa bahay?

This is listed at helitrex for 2,300php. Bought the same heli at divisoria for 2,000php (Now out of stock). Plus 200php pamasahe. Curious if i'd really have saved if i bought from them and that there aren't any other misc charges.


I'm going to try and buy something just to check what the total cost is really going to be, but i could use some input on what to expect.

May idadagdag pa na tax diyan. Unless you declare its all used stuff.

At least yung 12%VAT siguro at the minimum. Even with that, its already priced close to the local reseller (iwas hassle pa).

sa Post Office merong customs officer who assesses the value and the corresponding duties that you'll have to pay...
kahit sa UPS/Fedex meron ng duties and tax assessment... babayaran mo na lang pag deliver or kinuha mo na yung package.

pwede but I doubt the store declare it as used...
they're the ones who declare what's inside the package when they send it.

Whenever I used SAL, my delivered items were never taxed by customs. I'm not sure why though. This same practice is also observed in countries.

From my experience, any kind of expedite delivery will be taxed even if it is declared used or a gift. Except books.

If it's coming in via EMS, you're sure to get charged for duties and taxes.

I've forgotten the breakdown of the charge, but it ought to be at least worth 2000 Pesos.  I've had packages with values ranging from 4000-12000 Pesos (guitar parts and electronic devices) sent to me (EMS, FedEx and UPS). Laging between 2000-3000 additional charges sa akin.

So, yeah. It would probably be better to buy from the Multiply seller.

I guess i'll be getting my RC supplies from helitrex then. I'm going to be building up a small fleet as i learn and get to a 450 sized heli, so i'll keep looking for a good local seller instead.

Anyway, just for experience, i ordered a $30 item from banggood via Airmail. A spare heli + 2 batteries + 1 charger, is 2,010php local price, and paypal got charged 1,290php from banggood.  Lets see how that goes. Eta two weeks? Maybe four?

BTW, i also ordered a spare heli from lowdog three weeks ago. Still waiting.
 
EDIT: BTW, saan mo pinickup? Local post office, o manila central?

Courier services are door to door -- they can shoulder duties and taxes until the package makes it to you. Kung EMS, sa post office. They send you a notice if you need to pay for something.

I live outside Manila. For some reason I never get taxed when stuff get shipped to me through regular snail mail. I hear that is not the case within Manila.

The EMS office in Parañaque is amusingly next door neighbors with Customs. I used to love that shipping method back when I ordered stuff from Japan. Then they became a sure fire way to get taxed.

By snail mail, do you mean "Air Parcel Register"? I really can't find a reference on how long it would take for snail mail to get here from China.

I don't suppose Sephiroth can say which post office it'll end up when the destination is Pacita. Google Earth says there's a post office in binan, another in muntinlupa, and i don't know why it's not listed, but i got my postal ID in Pacita... which presumably is a postal office.

And in future transactions, i don't suppose they know about helicopters enough to know the difference between a 14,000php micro heli from a 1,200php one?

I ordered a set of Angry Birds stuffed toys from Focal Price which took 3 weeks to reach me. No additional fees paid.

What matters is the declared value and classification, not the finer details regarding the actual content.

250 for random stamps
250 for the transaction

+

A=item+shipping (*.12)
B=item+shipping +A (*10)
C=B+A

so sa 5000php  item with 1000php

A=6000*.12 = 720
B=6720*.10 = 672
C=672+720

total tax: 1892PhP



if you want it cheaper and faster, go Johnny air cargo.

5usd/lb... min of 5lbs = 25usd = around 1k

for duty

(invoice value + freight + insurance) x rate of duty (rate of duty is around 1-20%, depends on the tariff classification of your items)

for tax

(invoice value + freight + insurance + duty + brokerage + 250.00 (this is for import processing)) x 12%

add those two values up and you got the total duties and taxes


EDIT:
insurance is around 2% of the total value of goods

just make sure that you have the shipper indicate in the invoice CIF as your terms para yung buong value na lang ang x duty rate. other wise, they will still include the freight in the computation of duties and taxes.
