isn't the Huawei 2 Lite almost the same specs as Zenfone 3 Max?

Huawei 2 Lite
1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor
3GB of RAM
5.99-inch HD+ display, 18:9 display aspect ratio, 1440 x 720 resolution
32GB of storage, expandable via dedicated microSD
13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture lens, 2-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, PDAF, LED flash
8-megapixel f/2.0 front cameras with selfie toning flash
Dual SIM
3G, LTE
WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock
3,000mAh battery
Android Oreo with EMUI 8.0

Zenfone 3 Max 5.5
5.5-inch Full HD IPS display
2.5D contoured glass
64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core CPU
Adreno 505 GPU
3GB RAM
32GB internal storage
up to 128GB via microSD (uses SIM2)
16MP rear camera w/ Laser AF, LED flash
8MP front-facing camera
Dual SIM
4G LTE
Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.1, A2DP, EDR
GPS w/ A-GPS, GLONASS, BDSS
Fingerprint scanner
USB OTG
4100mAh battery with reverse charging

in some aspects the Zenfone's superior. the Huawei's the newer product and currently up for preorder at almost 10K Pesos (with free JBL E40BT wireless headphones). what the heck.

the redmi 5 plus is going to be priced at below 10k also.  and its the 4gb model so it seems to be the better deal compared to the huawei 2 lite.  especially if you do not need the wireless headphones.  4gb ram, 64gb rom, 4000mah battery at meron pang ir blaster para makapatay ka ng mga tv sa malls.  hehehe

lolz!  fully documented ah.  im using a mi5s plus now.  hopefully i dont get to experience any problems.  im very satisfied with the phone.  battery life is great.  screen is great.  performance is great.  i got the 6gb version btw.  it actually lags on me but i guess its because of facebook hogging all of the ram.  overall i feel its pretty solid

just to clarify regarding the lag.  it gets fixed when i clear the recent apps.  particularly facebook.

on Xiaomi, i had the Mi4i for ~2 years and never had a single problem with it even if it was dropped and stuff a few times.  when i read about xiaomi nowadays, they seem to have gotten better so they're worth a look too.  it helps that they now have local stores here so there should at least be some support.

@seph,

ayaw mo nokia?

Still have my Xiaomi Mi3 from 2014. Everytime I plan on getting a replacement an important expense seems to come up. Its still good enough for most tasks I use it for. The body though has a lot of scars. Eyeing one of the Nokias though.

@seph,

ayaw mo nokia?

any suggestions? yung same specs or better sana kaysa ZF3 Max. thanks!

My Mate 8 is still going strong, diba may bundle yata dyan ang Mate 10? give it a shot or go with Oppo or Vivo's mid priced phones.

Why not go for the Xiaomi Mi A1 reviews are positive and it's vanilla android.

 evil

mukhang back for the buck nga. worth considering. medyo lower megapixels nga lang kaysa sa zenfone 3 max (12 mp vs 16 mp).

mate 10 ay near 30 thousand pesos. kaya ko naman bilin kaso di ko naman majustify yung price kung text, call, read ebooks, listen to music at play mobile legends lang ginagawa ko sa phone.

Why not go for the Xiaomi Mi A1 reviews are positive and it's vanilla android.
di ba parang mas ok yung yung redmi 5 plus in terms of specs?

They are very similar spec-wise and the redmi 5 plus wins on looks, screen size, battery capacity and of course it is the newer phone while the A1's only advantage is the dual-camera and the vanilla android. Both seem very capable at almost the same price point so it all comes down to the users preference.

as for camera quality, i wouldn't put too much premium on the MP count.  better look at reviews and samples and not just the specs.

yup. ganun na nga.  not about MP.  and if clarity lang ang paguusapan, kahit anong modern midrange smartphone kaya na yun.  nagkakaiba lang sila sa quality ng pics.  yung mga washed out colors, low light performance at mga kagaya nun.  pero kung linaw lang ng camera paguusapan kahit anong midrange na phone okay na.  yung mga cherry mobile nga parang may 20mp na camera pero di parin ganun kaganda
