Brooklyn Nine-Nine is silly fun, with no long story arcs.  The Good Place (1 season), Fresh Off The Boat (3 seasons) are also good light comedies with no annoying laugh track. Community has some spectacularly good/funny episodes but quality is hit or miss over the last 3 seasons (out of 6).

been checking out those smartdns proxes for netflix. damn netflix US has loads more shows/movies than our local PH one but you have to deal with proxes/dns/etc...

finished 2 week trial of getflix (very good). currently on my last few days of the trickbyte trial (ok but getflix seems faster/quicker), will try others before deciding if 250 pesoses on top of netflix monthly pyment is worth it. any other recommendations?

For me nothing new was brought to the Star Trek narrative by Discovery. It is mostly more of the same tricks. Even the Trojan horse trick sneaking a bomb to the enemy's ship was done before on a couple os StarTrek shows.

I hope that is not their excuse for serving the same dish using the same tired recipe. People of the present will quickly tire of watching a remake.

Hehe Star Trek tropes fail to satisfy the tacticians among us

But srsly I think the first two eps were pretty good. The level of tension between crew members is a something we haven't seen since DS9, and the visuals alone make the show worth seeing.
