tips on buying a cellphone in Greenhills
« on: December 18, 2007, 10:29:14 AM »
I'm planning to buy a mobile phone (low- to mid-range model only) from Greenhills this week.

Do any of you have any stores that you can recommend?

Thanks in advance.

be careful with the greenhills stores. those guys are sharks. they can spot buyers from the parking lot pa lang LOL.

your best bet are the shops with stalls, not the tiangge on the second floor.

Noted.  Thanks for the warning.  Dun ko pa naman naisip tumingin.

Check out the latest models of cellphones at the 2nd floor Cellphone tiangge, Bridgeway Shops, V-mall and Theatermall.

Mura pa rin ba kahit dun sa mga shops?  Now I'm wondering if it's gonna be worth it going to GH or if I should just look around the Alabang or Makati area where I'm closer...

yung cellphone ko sa greenhills ko din binili pero dun sa may pwesto malapit sa food court 2nd floor.  So far, ok pa naman at wala pang problem since binili ko 1.2 years ago.

like the post above says ... go for the shops which are really shops ... You can try the ones in vmall 3rd floor, I saw their prices sometimes matches ebay prices.

I got my N6070 from Celltex near the Greenhills Cinema (not the Promenade, the old Cinemas) last February.  Good prices and they don't appear to be a fly by night operation since they have > 1 stall (AFAIK sila din yung Virtual Station na game console store, where mischief bought her DS Lite this year as well).

buying there is a gamble.

If you're prepared, you can get a great bargain.  First thing you do is to know what you want. Research, research, research...

Know what you need to look out for (dead pixels, etc...)

Check everything and take your time.

And, once you get home.  Check everything again.  If you have any problems go back immediately, do not wait.

Got my K610i there last year.  Bluetooth did not work, went back next day, they replaced my unit.  Okay pa naman hanggang ngayon.  Got it for about 3K less than the Vmall shops.

Why don't you check out the stalls at ATC? Sometimes their prices are even lower than those at greenhills.

if your'e going to buy cellphone at Greenhills make sure to ask if you can get cellphone warranty (just in case you'll experience some problems with your phone - who knows?!). but of course you have to pay for it. better to get cellphone warranty than leave it like that, no warranties or anything.

If you really opt for Greenhills, do for the shops, and don't for the tiangge with all those "2nd hand" GSM's displayed. Always always ask for warranty. Almost all phones come with manufacturer warranty. Service warranty alone won't do.

Take note of the store's name and inspect your receipt if it has all the info you need including the store contact number and warranty.

don't.

I second that even if I've been away from the Philippines for 4 years now.

sa Theater Mall okay ang mga shops, dun ako lagi bumibili mula nung nawala yung old school Virra Mall.

ang mahirap kasi sa tiangge sa Greenhills, minsan bigla nalang mawawala yung tindahan...
