Eat healthy foods.  Sleep early with adequate rest periods.  Have calamine lotion for the itchiness.  Take multivitamins with specially with Vitamin C.  Take acetaminophen for fever if 38 degrees C and above.

Chicken pox is much worse in adults than in children.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

...contrary to popular belief, taking baths frequently helps a lot in relieving itchiness.

Is there a truth to what some elders say that eating "malansa" (fishy?  sorry for the lack of a better term) foods can aggravate it and cause more blisters to appear?

Anyways, I once ate dried fish during my bout with chicken pox and it seems I got more blisters afterwards.  Probably just a coincidence though...

it puzzles me how women seem so fragile but they can hurt men more than they realize it.

The important thing is to keep the patient comfortable. Wearing loose clothing to minimize skin contact helps. Eating slimy food while may not aggravate the blisters, may make the patient uncomfortable by making them feel dirty. Malansa na nga feeling nila with blisters and rashes, papakainin mo pa ng malansa.

I remember some weird concoctions like yung dahon ng bayabas yata, pinapakuluan tapos isasama sa bath water mo para hindi masyadong mag scar...hehe...something like that...
