Tachikoma weren't prominent in the original GiTS film anyway.

Nice movie, loved the closing music.

saw Ghost in the shell.  I like the street level market world they created impressive but other than that kinda boring.  The back and forth banter between major and batou worked sometimes and sometimes didn't.

Kinda funny that they just absolutely had to let kitano be kitano, aka trademark thug yakuza

This is difference between films from the west and east.  In the east characters are mere pawns forwarding an idea/plot while in the west the focus is about the characters internal strife/struggles.
shit happens.

Meron mga dragging na portion yung GITS Movie tapos hindi parin ako maka getover sa whitewashing niya. Pero kuha naman nila feel nung anime medyo.

Ghost in the Shell flopped hard. That's going to be the end of the film franchise, I suppose. I'm quite surprised audiences would prefer Hollywood to stick with the glut of American superhero movies that has been going on for the past 15+ years or so.

I'm not too disappointed though, anime is the way to go with most manga adaptations anyway. Live action always seems to turn out somewhat awkwardly in one way or another regardless of the budget.

Ghost in the Shell apparently is accepted in Japan.
http://comicbook.com/anime/2017/04/09/ghost-in-the-shell-scarlett-johansson-japanese-reactions/

Quote
Ghost in the Shell has been the subject of whitewashing criticism for casting Johansson, a white actress, in the role Major Motoko Kusanagi, a Japanse woman whose consciousness is transferred into an artificial body.

"She was very cool. I loved her in The Avengers and I wanted to see this because she was in it. If they had done a Japanese live-action version they would have probably cast some silly idol [girl-band member]," said Hirano.

link to the Thor trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8RgYZAAIzY

with the appearance of the Grandmaster, Marvel appears to be introducing the Elders of the Universe in the MCU as well (the other previously revealed Elder was the Collector). there are several others in the comics, like Father Time and the Astronomer. i wonder if Marvel will introduce those too.

still the MCU lacks quite a lot in the cosmic entities department so far compared to the number involved in the comics Infinity Gauntlet saga. Thanos, possessing the Infinity Gauntlet, fought numerous cosmic beings like Galactus, Love and Hate, Chaos and Order, Kronos and even the embodiment of the universe Eternity. all to please Death, who i assume will be the role of Hela.

now imagine Thanos courting Galadriel Hela.

looks like Hela lays siege on asgard after finding out that the all father Odin is missing , then steals the soul gem from heimdall.. gets rid of her headgear after powering up , Odinson arrives late.. soul gem powered Hela breaks Mjolnir .. and sends the Odinson to.. Skaar ?

they kinda nerfed drax a bit, he's Drax the destroyer and he doesn't destroy anything in this movie except maybe a door. While the other characters gained some buffs, Quill was tanking a lot of damage like a boss.

but overall I liked the movie, it's a good palate cleanser since it mostly works as a standalone movie there are barely any references to the other movies and no setups for the greater MCU, even though it introduces a lot of major Marvel concepts. It's fun, silly, and goofy but it has an emotional core. Granted some of the emotional scenes are a bit ham fisted and came out of nowhere, that being said the emotional payoff at the end was incredibly beautiful and moving. I never expected this to be better than the first one, that was a really special movie for me. 8/10 for me

Also this does something better than the first, the color grading in this one was so ridiculously gorgeous, I rewatched the 1st movie a few weeks ago and the difference is like night and day, the 1st movie had so much potential visually and while it still looked great the muddy color grading really ruined a lot of the visuals. Not on this movie though, every color popped it was such a treat.

it's 5/10 for me because i felt that literally the awesome part is in the first half of the movie, then it degenerated into a family drama in the later half.

yeah the colors were so pretty this time around, they they didn't miss the opportunity to flaunt them in the fireworks display.

really, i was severely disappointed, and my hopes weren't high.

Really didn't like the first Guardians. Slept while watching it 3/4 of the time. So didn't even bother with part 2.

Really? I have GotG Vol. 1 in my top 3 of favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe movies along with Deadpool and Winter Soldier in no particular order. GotG Vol. 2 was ok but GotG Vol. 1 is better.

Had a Kurt Russell Marathon day at the Cinema yesterday... GotGV2 first, excellent follow up to the first one, IMHO... every character had expanded roles....all while sticking to one common theme....    then came Fast & Furious 8... oddly enough, same theme....but everything turned up to 11!!!  ha ha....
