finally did a CPU upgrade from i5-2400 to i3-9100f
needed a m.2 slot , was expecting a minor performance improvement
but my CoD warzone fps went up from 45-55fps up to 70-80fps
not sure if ganyan ba talaga kalaki diffrence.. or bottleneck ako sa processor dati
Intel Core i5 2500, Asrock B75 , 16gb Crucial Ballistix , Sapphire Nitro+ Rx 570 , 512Gb Samsung EVO  ,2x3tb Seagate SV35, FSP Aurum Gold 600w

When I upgraded my phenom x4 940 3.0ghz to the core i5 2500k @ 4.2ghz on all cores, the performance improvement was massive on the games I played at the time. Frame pacing was also much better because the occasional stutter and hitching i was experiencing was gone. I remember the framerates at least more than doubled in gta4 and allowed me to max out the draw distance in that game and it still ran faster.  I guess there was indeed a bottleneck with the old cpu.

That was the only time though. Upgrading cpus since then have been exercises in diminishing returns for me.

Hopefully the next gen consoles will spur developers to optimize for modern 8 core and up cpus.

Good luck on your high speed networking journey! I'm using the 8 port variant (CRS309). It can quickly get expensive if you're not careful like me. lol. But it's also rewarding the moment you start seeing gigabyte transfer speeds. I'm using 10gbe to connect my desktop PC, an AIO Proxmox box to virtualize FreeNAS, Plex on CentOS with GPU passthrough, and a Dell Poweredge T420 server which I use to backup my AIO box.  :)

^ I tried to keep everything budget friendly and simple. I only need 10Gb networking between two PCs and a Synology DS1819+ NAS. One PC sits near the NAS and the networking equipment so I decided to do short runs of Direct Attached Copper connections for those. The other PC is in another room which has 15M of existing UGreen brand "CAT7" shielded flat cabling which I decided to just re-purpose for 10Gb instead of installing new fiber optic cabling.

I bought the switch from Amazon, the NICs from Ebay and the transceiver and customized DAC cables from FS. I think I got some pretty sweet deals.
