Ok Newegg's deals on 860 Evos are way too good. I pulled the trigger on one, now to see how well this whole Newegg Philippines thing works.  :silly: >:D
Tell us how it goes. Need to put together a new rig.

Scheduled to arrive at 5pm today! If it gets in then it would have been a pretty painless order procedure, and package is just one day late (initial estimate said it would arrive yesterday).

Did youorder straight from Newegg to your home address? No need to go through a third party like JAC? Also do they accept local credit cards?

Yup straight from Newegg to Philippines. I just clicked the "Go to Newegg Philippines" link that comes up the first time you go to newegg.com and there are no cookies set. Yes they took local credit card. No picking up at post office or customs or anything, straight to door after 5 days.

860 Evo 512GB was $119 from Newegg website (vs $99 at their Ebay store), but there's a $20 off coupon (18FANST31) that you apply to the order to bring it right down to $99. Even with shipping it comes to more than P2000 cheaper than local retail (about P6300 for my 860 Evo, IIRC retail on an 850 Evo is about P8500-8900).

Unboxing!

The package is huge!

Mostly bubble wrap and a much tinier box inside

Tiny box comes out of bubble cave

Opening the tiny box

Backside of the SSD

Sigh of relief as my old SSD was already pushing 265TB of writes... and Intel is known for potentially bricking itself when the end of the drive life is reached.

^ The initial estimate was 4 days, but it took 5 because of customs clearing. Shipped via Fedex (~P1000 for the SSD).

Did Fedex charge you extra to clear customs? I had purchased an item from China and was shipped thru FedEx (about 800php shipping). It was delayed at customs. I had to send FedEx proof of payment (screenshot of PayPal receipt) for it to clear customs duty free. But FedEx asked for an additional 800+ on delivery for the extra customs work.

They did that to me a couple of months back - they were asking for an additional 800 for the delay in processing. I told them they can just return the item because I will not pay for a delay which I had nothing to do with... They delivered my package the following day - no extra charge.

No extra charges, and no intervention was necessary.
The package cleared by itself and arrived the next day.
