Recommended ba na maging CD reader yung DVD Drive? Kasi nagloloko na yung CD ROM ko at balak ko ng bumili ng DVD drive.
Sabi naman ng kaibigan ko na madaling masira ang DVD drive pag ginagawang CD reader, kaya nagdadalawang isip ako kung bibili pa ako

It all depends on how much you use it.  Looking at how cheap dvd-rom's are now, it's not even worth it to buy a cd-rom... my $.02.

Di naman, mine is almost a year old but still working. I don't have a cdrom -
just a dvd and a writer.

Yup, I have a setup similar to cab's. So far, no problems.

Napansin ko lang na dalawa yung magkatapat na maliit na butas sa tabihan ng tray nung DVD drive ko. Meron bang dalawang laser beam ang DVD-ROM drive? Kaya kung mawala man yung laser para sa

My Asus E608 is more than 2 years already. I'm using it to play DVDs, play audio CDs, play games and install programs. It's still alive and kicking.

same here, i use my lite-on dvd drive as my default reader/player. mabagal kasi ang read speed ng burner ko eh...

yeah. DVD ROM drive's lasts as long as an ordinary CDROM drive... I dunno about CDRW drives though.

harware are subject to wear and tear, we have to live with that, another alternative would be to use virtual cd utility so that apps using cd rom can be stored there and accessed just like a cd rom drive. this way you can prolong the lifespan of your hard
