^^^ the tires are awesome dude.  runs so smooth kala ko pati suspension ko na-upgrade hehehe!  thanks for the tips!

calvin, i need your advice, if ever i decided to replace my rotors should i still depress the pistons?  do i even have to mingle with my brake pads?

brembo dont have rear rotors for my car.  im going with DBA pero in a few months pa.  wala pa akong spare time.  either the dba street series slotted or 4000 series slotted.  parang sobra atang bling yung gold series nila.  :o

i just feel the need to replace my rotors since the stock ones gets soo rusted.  typical of snow belt driven cars.  salt laden roads does the damage.  advantage nang DBA ay rust proofing.  OE replacemnt brembo rotors dont.

doc,

I talked to a car club buddy who has used DBA parts and he recommends the 4000 series. He says the gold series only looks good while it's still new but as soon as normal wear and tear sets in it looks unsightly specially with revealing wheels like the ones you installed.

He says the 4000 series also performs much better than the street series, based on his experience.

You only need to depress the pistons just enough to slide in the new rotors.
Just make sure to remove about 20mL of brake fluid from the reservoir to make room for displaced caliper fluid.

Oy Pythonista! buhay ka pa!  :)

The entry-level Focus is a nicer deal actually. They removed the airbag (ABS nalang naiwan) and the rear aircon vents, but upgraded the engine to the 1.8L Duratec (previously in the Focus 1.8 Ghia). And dropped the price to 759K for the manual transmission. Plus low down.

Darnit. I really wanted a Focus manual (yung luma pa yun.. 1.6L manual tranny) pero pang-lolo daw sabi ng wife ko. The Focus diesel is so expensive, for 1.1M bibili nalang ako ng entry-level CRV for 100k more. The new CRV is growing on me, and even the entry-level one has dual airbags na.

but my (local) dream car has got to be the Hyundai Santa Fe CRDi. Although at 1.6M layo na....

The cars are about even I think, with the outie having more features, SF with better economy (c/o the CRDI engine). Subjectively I like the looks of the outie better, the standard 18" wheels really do give it a macho stance.

Among the small 'utes though, i'd have myself a Forester XT. Fastest by far!

just visited the dealership yesterday:  the outlander 2.4L Mivec already comes with all the goodies of the top of the line GLS sport (3.0L V6) (rockford fosgate, more airbags, etc) and i think it's still priced around 1.4~1.5M.  and yes, it still looks the best in stock form and even better with the limited edition body kit.
