If most of those performance parts were taken from TRD Japan, it might. Just the TRD bucket seat alone already cost 50K in ph pesos without import tax yet, but that is genuine TRD racing seats... not widely available anywhere else and more expensive than what is available here.

Add up other TRD parts installed there plus tax, it may amount to 1.4M for the high end vios.... and if I had money to burn, I'd get one of those in a heartbeat just because of all those original TRD installed parts...

Not an expert or anything.. but shouldn’t that be Disc Brakes instead of Motor Disc Brakes?

Macbook Air 13 thin, light and unapologetically dated, yet I use it more than my Alien

I wonder if "TRD" is legit lol

The Vios doesn't even exist in markets where TRD or GR operate. GR does have a kit for the Yaris, but it looks nothing like the Vios Cup car. Also know someone who has an actual Vios Cup car and far as we know all the mods are local, aside from seats which he got from the Recaro distributor.

GR Yaris:

^The local PhDM or for that matter ASEAN-DM Yaris is very different from the JDM Yaris, while the NorthAm-DM Yaris is an altogether different animal.

I find this funny.  The Vios isn't officially supported by TRD.  All this really is marketing, and I don't get how they keep emphasizing "pang-grab" as if it would motivate people to upgrade their Vios' to avoid being put down.  People would likely opt for a bigger car if they really needed to flex.

kung yun ang mga mods na ilalagay sa vios.... 1.4M is not worth it for me. TRD lang yung pressure plate at clutch disc... at ano yung TRD kit na yun?

Infrastructure is not there yet (even in Japan).

For a city car that goes from home to work and back I think pure electric is doable.
Overnight charging, and we have 220V power so homes are actually more capable than counterparts in US/JP that use 110/100V.

well, traffic is not much of a problem with a full electric... it does not run the way a gas engine runs... if an ebike is anything to go by (and I use an ebike exclusively now... no more car... no use for it here), it uses a lot less energy, crawling through traffic than a gas engine would... still more than you would like since crawling at low speeds do not generate enough back EMF to lower current consumption of the electric motor but way better than a gas engine crawling through traffic.

The hybrid has its advantages when it comes to recharging the battery and providing extra power for acceleration. at low speeds it uses electric... when the need arises, then the gas engine helps AND it recharges the battery automatically when the battery level gets low... no need to hope the car reaches the house before it runs out of charge so you can recharge it.
