salamat.

digital effects these days model their sounds from actual amplifiers and stompboxes (analog pedals). they simulate the sounds of the real things. the mesa clip used a model that simulates the sound of a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier amplifier, which i think is the amp (or a similar model) favored by bands like Linkin Park, Seether, Nickelback and Disturbed.

as for the clip, imbento ko lang yun. hehehe.

Last summer, almost 11k ang regular price niya sa Perfect Pitch. Email Lowee Ballon at info@yupangco.com if you're interested.

Yikes! almost as costly as a decent multifx processor. hmmm... unahin ko muna ata yung fx ko. been struggling with a zoom 505+boss metalzone for so long since my korg 411fx brokedown.

get a unit with a USB port, if you can. pinkamura na siguro yung Zoom G2.1, but the TonePort is still the better, more powerful PC interface.

or get a small unit now, then get a TonePort later on. hehehe.

How much does a zoom g2.1 cost? Actually if I can find another Korg 411fx I'll probably just get that. I was so satisfied by the sound of that li'l box. Wala na atang gumagawa nun. If I can get one I'll have extra cash to get the Line6 Toneport.

not sure kung magkano yung G2.1. i have a G2 which i'm thinking about selling, but that's another story.

matagal nang discontinued yung 411fx e. pero email mo yupangco. baka meron pa rin silang old stock. i know someone who owns one. he didn't like it, but he's not one to sell his stuff either way.

a longshot would be to find someone who can repair your 411fx. baka sakaling ma-salvage pa without spending too much.

errrr. i just told you the email earlier: info@yupangco.com

they carry both Line 6 and Korg products. pag di nag-reply, malamang ibig sabihin wala na silang stock.

as for the zoom, sorry i never wrote a review for it. but it's a good unit. read the harmony central user reviews, pero take them with a grain of salt. mahirap pag masyado pinaniwalaan yung iba nilang mga pinagsasabi.

Thanks, doc.

I was thinking of writing a follow-up article since there are so many things to tackle with this gizmo. But if there's not enough interest generated, I'll probably shelf it for now.

oy Al! nice article! i actually saw this sa park square 2 days before you published the article. i was originally looking for a guitar port. But the kind guy at the store referred me to the tone port. He told me that the tone port is the newer product and it's much better than the guitar port kasi it has bass and mic pre-amps. guitar port sells for 16K (with rifftracker) while the tone port is 11.5k. So it's a no-brainer! pag-uwi ko, i immediately read reviews and it's good nga daw. nung pagpasok ko sa office 2 days later, pagcheck ko sa pinoypc meron ka nang review! hahaha...nagpaparamdam sakin yung tone port. I'm looking kasi for a good way to connect my acoustic-electric guitar to my laptop. tapos i'm also planning to delve into electric guitars, so i think the tone port is a good investment. timing din kasi kahapon umalis yung sister ko papuntang singapore...so nagpabili ako..hahaha...sana makabili, or else i'll be forced to fork 11.5k. then i'll buy an electric guitar.

mindless,
g2.1u is 8k++ at jb music park square.

thanks, man!

i think the GuitarPort can sell for around P9,500 without Rifftracker.

but the TonePort has all the features of GuitarPort. in addition, it has bass amp and mic preamp models. so it's a more self-contained unit by itself. advantage lang ng GuitarPort e compatible siya with GuitarPort online, Rifftracker and possibly the patches at custometone.com (i haven't confirmed this one) since it uses the same software as the POD series while the TonePort uses its own GearBox software.

pero the cool thing with either product is expandability. you can purchase model packs for more effects and amp models.

kung may pera lang ako, i'd buy a POD XTLive. hehehe.
