guys eto baka stupid question heheheh pasensya na... paano ko malalaman kung unlocked yung Proc ko? naka AMD AthlonXP 2000 ako... sa mobo ko I can only adjust the FSB.. di ko alam kung dahil walang provision ang mobo ko or naka lock lang ang CPU multiplier ko. BTW my mobo is an ECS K3VTA333... SalamaT!

unang una, wala atang provision para mapalitan ang multipliers ng processor mo through the bios. So we can't say kung unlocked din yung processor mo. Although if your processor is a palomino, most probably hindi pa siya unlocked. if thoroughbred and barton siya, then most probably unlocked siya
-
how would you know if its a palomino?
is "AthlonXP" considered palomino?
-
look at the stepping of your cpu and you'll know if your Athlon XP is a palomino or a thoroughbred A or B or a Barton.

munkhee,
you can try this :

Here is the new interactive painting guide for T-Bred and Barton cores, which additional shows how to change a T-Bred or a Barton into a mobile CPU. You've surely heard of the difficulties in doing that, due to the latest multiplier lock of AMD. With a slight modification in the L5 bridge it is possible to change the CPU into a mobile one which is overclockable by software. (The first mainboards are supporting this function and some tools like e.g. CPUMSR supports most mainboard chipsets). But multiplier and Vcore settings on mobile CPUs needs different bridge connections, so this is the reason for this brand-new interactive painting guide.

i got a question na matagal ko nang gustong itanong. it's about the pci/agp lock feature of a motherboard.
what does it do?
ang alam ko lang kase, if you're overclocking, it is better if your mb has this. pero hindi ko alam kung bakit or kung para saan.
-
jepoi: if your motherboard has no agp/pci clock, when you increase the FSB, the AGP and PCI clocks also increase. For example, if your FSB is 133 and you increase it to 150, your AGP clock (stock 133/2 = 66.7) will increase to 75. Your PCI clock (stock 133/4 = 33.3) will increase to 37.5.
AGP and PCI cards may not be able to handle the increased speed, and result in failures or glitches. If your motherboard HAS an AGP/PCI clock, the AGP bus stays at 66 and the PCI bus stays at 33 no matter what you speed your FSB is.
Hope this information helps you.
-
sa akin 1.8ghz pero accoding sa bios pede ata increase to.... pero ito tanong pag-increase ko ba yung clock eh okay lang a yung fan ng cpu ko.... processor eh thermaltake and sa casing naman 2 exhaust tapos isang intake ata.... :D

Just download CPU-Z it eventually displays the core type of your CPU.

pag locked ang proccy.. dalawa lang mangyayari pag-tinaas or binabaan mo multi ng proccy:
1) its either there is no POST when you changed your multi from the default multi or
2) there is POST but when checked w/ CPU-Z eh lumalabas eh default multi parin.. (ive experienced it w/ Sempron proccys)

the answer is already been said in your statement..

yung sa akin tinaas ko from 1800 to 2200 pero sabi sa bios baka maghang kapag less than 333mhz yung memory frequency.... tinaas ko hanggang 333 pero ayaw parin naghang so binalik ko sa default..... board is asus A7V8X-VX ....... :D
-
ito nga pala yung details sa bios:
CPU speed --- manual,1800MHz, 2250 and 2700MHz
CPU frequency multiple ---- 13.5 to 20.0 kapag manual sa cpu speed
CPU External Frequency -----163/33 to 227/45
memory frequency----333
CPU Vcore----- 1.65 to 1.85
panu gagawin to? :D
-
if I read your post right, sobrang taas na ng PCI frequency ninyo! it's at 45MHz already, from the standard 33MHz, that might be the culprit :(
-
alin dun sir? panu ko gagawin?
bakit kaya ayaw??

guys, hope you bear with my simple questions:
which of these 2 will "require" you to increase vcore?
a. increasing fsb
b. increasing multiplier
is the fsb always adjustable?
adjustable ba ang fsb ng mga palominos? i have a 1800+ palomino w/ an ecs k7vta3, pero i saw in this link that the same setup was overcloced to 1.725ghz from 1.5ghz.
meron akong nakita sa cpudatabase.com

both a and b involve a change in the cpu clock speed. thus, we can't say straight out which of those will need you to raise your cpu core voltage. so what i suggest is to try raising either and/or both in small steps. if it doesn't post, then that's when you try to raise the voltage. fsb overclocking will be trickier since you also have to consider the fsb of your memory as a consequence of your changing your cpu fsb setting.
is the fsb always adjustable? - yes, you can adjust it with your motherboard.
adjustable ba ang fsb ng mga palominos? - the fsb of any cpu can be adjusted. all you need is a motherboard that can adjust the fsb settings.
-
thanks dean
akala ko kasi hindi na pwede oc ang mga palominos.
=)
-
i dont know if its appropriate here pero semprons are new procs kasi with 166 mhz bus but slower clocks.. some older motherboards dont recognize this proc. they will still think its a t-bred hence they assign 133 mhz bus.
so its essential to update your bios. So you can overclock properly.
(wehehehe feeling marunong)

guys i want to start overclocking my pc...ito specs ko..sorry kung medyo hindi 'hi-end'. kaya ba to i-overclock? ano kailangan kong applications?
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.84GHZ
Coolermaster Aero 7+
Epox EP-8RDA+ Pro nForce2 (Socket A)
2 x 40 GB Seagate 7200rpm
2 x 256MB DDR 400 PQI
GeForce FX 5700LE 128MB
-
Set mo multipliers mo sa x11 at FSB at 200 MHz, instant 2500@3200 iyan kung Barton ang proc mo. Check mo lang temperatures later when overclocked, malamang above 50C iyan.
-
@spoliarium
sir how would i know if barton un proc ko and how do i change does values sa bios ba o may ibang application pa ako kailangan i download? what can i use to check my temp. sori po la talaga kc ako alam sa overclocking pasencya po...
-
Download cpu-z to check if your proc is a Barton.
Check this link for a guide: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=gethowto&...=112&howtoID=43 (http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=gethowto&number=1&howtopage=112&howtoID=43)
-
2500+ only comes in barton flavours
-
i used cpu-z and it is a barton, i read the article and it told be to use this to check for stability "Sandra CPU Burn-in & 3DMark 2k1" i found and dl'd 3dmark2001 but i can't find the Sandra CPU Burn in...i downloaded sandra lite 2005 and with it came a burn in wizard..will that do ok?
-
@spolarium
sir salamat sa link, barton ung proc ko abd i want to overclock it. i read the article and it told me to use 3D2k1 and Sandra CPU Burn-In. i now have 3D2k1 installed pero i only found Sandra Lite 2005 which has a Burn-In wizard, pwede ko ba rin un gamitin? and sir ano gamit ninyo to check your temp?
-
Get motheboard monitor 5: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/download.html (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/download.html)
Subukan mo iyon burn-in wizard ng Sandra. You can also download Prime95: http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm) to test stability of your overclock.
-
in sandra you click CPU arithmetic Benchmark to run the cpu burn in
since you have 400mhz of ram the normal 200X11 will be easy i dont think youre temps will go over 50C
i used to have a similar set up and i didn't need to bump up the vcore
-
@gizmic
before mo inOC ung rig ano ung temp ng case paT ng cpu pag idle?
-
guys, patulong naman how to overclock my system... :)
athlonxp 2600+ barton @2.08ghz
MSI kn2delta
kingmax ddr400 1gig total
-
@zero1978
asking for the same advice follow spoliarium's link:
AMD OC guide (http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=gethowto&...=112&howtoID=43)
ako athlon 2500+ @1.84Ghz planning to overclock it to 3200 kung kaya...
ano temp ng case and cpu mo?
-
...high performance settings ngayon sa bios ko
...2.5 3 3 7 ata ang mem timings
ang fsb 166 parin...
temps ko ngayon idle is 49-50c... load 58-60c (farcry 1.3)
wla kasing core cell ang k7n2 delta l ko e... kaya naguguluhan pa ako mag overclock ng processor...
-
para magstart sana ako to oC my rig a bit pero bat wala sa bios ko ang softmenu II/III paano ko man to machange ung multiplier niya?
-
on my old barton its 40-50C in summer time and 35-45C in good temps
-
@gizmic
ano cooling system mo? how come wala sa bios ko ang softmenuII/III
-
i use a Aero 7+
i'm not sure what are you talking about you....
different boards have different names for its overclocking menu in bios just try to find it or maybe take screen shots of them
-
i downloaded Clockgen, is that advisable to use?
-
guys i have a 2500+ barton on a EP-8RDA3+ i can't fins a decent guide...all they they is that they increased the multipliers pero i can't with my mobo kasi wala siya softmenu sa BIOS ok lang ba gumamit ng clock gen?
-
your board's overclocking menu in bios is the "Advance Chipset Features" and then for voltages its in the "Power BIOS Features"
and i dont advice overclocking in windows
-
overclock in bios as much as possible.
where do you exactly have difficulty in overclocking?
-
well as far i can see things going for him he can't seem to find the menu lol
and yes your board has multiplier settings
-
im really new to this but i really want to try it out...
difficulty: i don't know what values to alter. kc alam ko dapat ung multipliers eh wala naman sa Advance Chipset Features, ang fsb values lang ba akong gagalawin? pati mga tol meron ba kayo steps na pwede kong sundan...para mas claro...thanks talaga sori sir gizmic kung sobrang newbie mga tanong ko...:)
-
dont worry i was a newbie at a time
multiplier in your bios should be called "CPU Clock Ratio"
btu since your cpu is a 2500+ why dont you try the standard 2500+ to 3200+ overclock which is done but changing the fsb to 200
in overclocking its trial and error and always bit by bit dont rush things because you need to test the system if its stable that those speeds like play a game or something run some benchmarks would do
if you system isn't stable it means it needs more vcore
-
i have prime95 and sandra lite would that be enough to stable test my rig? fsb to 200 and thats it? wala ako muna galawin sa voltage o AGP or anything? ung fsb lang to 200? tnx bro for understanding....
-
yes see if you rig can run stable in 200fsb remember to make your ram also run 200 (1:1 ratio)
if it crashes in games or test feel free to increase your vcore abit
-
@gizmic
sir if ever you go online please help me out! i did what you said i raised the fsb to 200. you also told me that the ram should run on 200mhz too so i looked through the bios and the only thing in mhz with related to memory is the 'memory frequency' and when i changed my fsb from 166 to 200 the mem freq automatically changed too. my pc restarted, it told me to wait and it restarted again but this time everything i see is a black screen and thats it...kahit ung POST screen wala, kahit ung display ng vid card info rin...i checked the digital clock on my board which will inform you which error it is and it displays C3 which means its a problem with the memory. refering to my manual it states that it is either 1.compatibility issue of memory 2.wrong insertion of memory or 3. damaged memory... since it worked fine before i OC'd it, then it could only mean item number 3...is there anything i can do to fix this without buying new memory modules?
-
check your manual and look for Clear Cmos its to restart your bios to default either by putting a jumper or by taking off your cmos battery on the board dont worry your ram is ok since its a pqi 400mhz(200fsb) your parts are capable of running it at those speeds unless your specs are fake lol btu i dont think so anyway just clear cmos and tell me how it goes
now we know it cant post so you only need more voltage its either the ram volts or the cpu volts
-
@shadow
you should've loosened your memory timings before you set your fsb to 200... first thing to do is to reset your cmos/bios to default, then start overclocking bit by bit. =)
-
sir's can anyone guide me in overclocking my amd sempron 2400+ ? hehe I want to try if sempron can be oveclocked to its fullest :-)
-
oh by the way im using redfox m7vig400 board with the said sempron
-
@tomodachi_jaded
bro.. anong chipset yang mobo moh? VIA or Nforce2?
if VIA eh maganda gumamit nalang overclocking software.. use CrystalCPUID for changing fsb/voltage (lock multi kze mga semprons eh)
if Nforce2 eh ok sa BIOS nalang mag-overclock
we got the same proccy bro.. reached mine @ 230fsb (2.3Ghz using a SLK900u heatsink) 1:1 w/ 2x256 ddr400 twinmos value rams.. can reach 250fsb (2.5Ghz) w/ better rams though..
-
guys, patulong naman how to overclock my system... :)
athlonxp 2600+ barton @2.08ghz
MSI kn2delta
kingmax ddr400 1gig total
Try this:
11.5x200
start at 1.725v
MEM Timing -> 2.5-3-3-11
-or-
11x200
start at 1.65v
MEM Timing -> 2.5-3-3-11
Test it with prime95 maximum heat, if it fails, raise the voltage by .025v. If ok with the voltage, raise the FSB by 1 and then test it.
Mine can go actually at 200x11 at 1.65v on my barton 2800+. But now i'm in 11x206 2266mhz 2.5-3-3-11 PQI mems.
Remember to keep your CPU under 69c.
-
@gizmic
fake hehe dang i forgot that the memory modules i have 333 not 400, i should have checked first...one of them is damaged and the other one is still alive
@theDUD3
thanks tol for the advice, pero after 166, 200 naman un agad...anyway gonna order some new memory modules...
-
correction on my last post 400 pala ang memory ko not 333 so it should have worked diba? sunog ung isang memory i have to buy a new one pero buhay pa ang isang 256 400. what could have gone wrong gurus?
-
@shadow.dweller
maybe a faulty mem talaga.. just waiting to burn-up
or
bumigay under stress bec. of high voltages and o/cing
-
@X3ME15
hmmm...most probably, pero bakit sa mga iba ayos lang i-oC ang fsb and mem frequency from 166 to 200 w/out worries?
dang pati naman ung slot 1 ng memory sira na. i just found out kasi dun galing ung burned out na memory and i tried to place the 2nd 256mb (originally slot 3) to slot 1. di lang man dumadaan sa POST. bale frequent restarts ung parang nagluloop lang ang pagrestart.
-
lol volts ehheheh my cpu has seen 2vcore my ram already taste running on 3.2v
maybe psu unstable or some other things like not enough cooling
-
@shadow.dweller
every mem sticks are different.. some lasts and some burn.. stroke of luck lang talaga kung tumagal ang hardware under stress.. value/generic ones are not designed that way..
also unstable rails in the PSU may also contribute w/ the hardware failure.. like gizmic has said..
-
hehe X3M315 lately many companies been releasing Winbond UTT chips on their value Series ram they are sweet to overclock
-
di ko sure kung baket puro winbond UTT chips ang gamit.. baka they've gotten a sweat deal w/ the manufacturers..
-
190 x 10 lang akin :(

wow! thoroughbred! you can try FSB = 233
it's a thouroughbred it's most likely to be able to take 233FSB
they are rare, lalo na yung thoroughbred-b
you're lucky to have it

and yeah zero normal socket a maxs out about 2.2-2.3ghz with air cooling unless youre using a XP-M cpu like me :D
hmm fsb is not a cpu limitation to get high fsb you need good rams and a board that can do very high

di ko sure kung baket puro winbond UTT chips ang gamit.. baka they've gotten a sweat deal w/ the manufacturers..
UTT are cheap UTT means UnTesTed these UTTs can be BH5
not testing the stick saves alot of money but heh since they are UTT they are not guaranted to run like a normal BH5
BTW those twinmos AA4T are UTT CH6 not BH5s anyway i dont know much of what a CH6 can do maybe its a high latency type

Mga Sirs, Patulong naman...
I've got a
Sempron 64 2800+ (stock at 1.6Ghz)
ASRock K8Upgrade nForce3 bios v P1.30 (Cool n Quiet disabled)
2 x 512mb DDR400 TwinMos
450w Task PSU
Inno3D 6600 OC
I OCed in BIOS (w/ stock HSF) to 2.4Ghz
When I check System Properties & CPU-Z lumalabas 2.4Ghz nga
but after playing for a while or pag iniwan ko lang bukas bumabalik sa 1.6Ghz
With aircon off, my temps are:
MoBo 41c
CPU 41c
With aircon on, about minus 5 to 10c from my temps above.
Never pa akong umabot sa 50c which I think I can eliminate
the possibiltiy of overheat issue.
Ano kaya ang problema? bat bumabalik from 2.4Ghz to 1.6Ghz
after a while?
Please help mga sirs.
Thanks in advance!
-
hmm... try disabling cool & quiet in the bios. :D
-
@Sir theDUD3,
Cool & Quiet in BIOS is diabled sir.
Ano pa kaya ibang cause? =(

Hi guys!!
I've got a couple of questions with regards to overclocking my Athlon 64 2800+ (Clawhammer core).
Since I've got crappy PC3200 RAM, I can't overclock the RAM that much (even a 30Mhz OC messes up my system real bad), so I've hard to use dividers and drop the HT link speed. I've been able to reach a speed of 2.2GHz (245HTT x 900 w/ RAM at 200.5MHz) at stock cooling (and stock voltage) by increasing the FSB/LDT multiplier to around 245 and dropping HT link speed to 600Mhz plus dropping RAM speed to DDR333.
I was thinking of trying to see if I can overclock more by further reducing the HT link speed and reducing RAM speed more, in order to increase the FSB/LDT multiplier. My question is that will doing so, decrease system performance? Or does everything depend on how high I can get the HTT to be?
Thanks!!!
-
himuradrew try baka magwork kasi sakin ganito yung config ko eh ..
ginawa kong ddr333 yung ddr400 then htx3 25fsb yung nagawa kong stable and prime95 stable . 11mhz increase in my rams so 211mhz . generic lang din ram ko pero nilagyan ko ng copper cooler para sure then 2.7vdimm cpuv is 1.65 kinda high but its okie . ginawa kong 270fsb pero nagrestart 2.7vdimm hindi padin kaya hindi ko pa siya ginawang 2.8 maybe later pero stay muna ako sa 258fsb and yung ram ko is single 512 1x kaya niya 265fsb pero may error sa prime pero sa superpi wala .. so 258pinaka stable .. and nagrebios din ako para mas okie yung pagoverclocked ko msi k8neo fsr/lsr rebios to msi k8neo platinum

Hey! Overclocking have many ways... to be sure of: first, you must know the basic in overclocking; second, know the features of each peripherals what you have; third, you may use proper cooling and the last burn-in you toys (PC) step by step. Goodluck!

Quick and dirty A64 clocking guide **UPDATE** X2 OC
Overclocking breaks things which you alone are resposible for, not AMD, not intel, not Nivida, not Ati, not xyz mobo maker. Proceed at your own risk.
this is a quick and dirty guide. I am aiming for simplicity since it's not all that complicated to OC A64's even for first timers. I am also aiming for safty so you don't kill anything so lower volts are advocated. Just good clean fun to get an FX or better from your budget chip.
VERY IMPORTANT to keep in mind at all times is hypertransport needs to be around 1000, meaning LDT x HTT (aka FSB) ~1000 or less.
Now we will Isolate then Consolidate.
What that means is you need to test three parts of the CPU subsystem (chipset, chip, and memory) to find max speeds of each.. Then combine them for some sort of optimal overclock.
ISOLATE
Don't forget to take notes.
1. Max HTT/FSB should be first ..*only works if motherboard has locks. Most A64 boards do today. Sata 1 and 2 are not locked on some nforce mobos use 3 and 4.
-set CPU multi to 6 or 7, this will take CPU out of equation
-set memory to SPD and 100, this will take memory out of equation
-Increase HTT/FSB up until you fail to boot or there abouts, back down 5%, (HTT * 0.95), this is your max safe HTT.
2. Max Chip capable
- Set multiplier to it's maxium
-Set vcore to 1.6 -1.65 for 130nm chips, 1.50-1.55 for 90nm chips
-Set mem to SPD and 100, this will take memory out of equation
-starting with HTT 200 raise in about 5Mhz increments up to boards max found earlier or until you start failing PRIME95 which will probably happen first..only give it 5 minutes max, that's good enough for now.
-At the point it starts failing within that 5 min time period, back down 5%, (CPU MHZ * 0.95), thats your max CPU speed, now test prime again at 95% for 12 hour for stable.
Prime 95 Link http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm)
3. Memory MAX
It depends what you want and type of mem you chose, LL or Bandwidth but must keep 1T (command rate) because A64 suffers big time with 2T.
-For high bandwidth set mem setting to 200 and 2.5-4-3-7 1 T and give it boards max volts, or for LL set mem setting to 200 and 2-2-2-7 1 T and give it boards max volts. (up to 2.9Vdimm is safe with all ram) ( Caution DFI/ABIT users -- do not exceed 3.0V unless you know what you are doing!!!)
-Set CPUs multi to 6-7, again to take it out of equation.
-Raise HTT up to boards max or until you start failing memtest86 test 5 and 6 http://www.memtest86.com/ (http://www.memtest86.com/)
-When you start failing memtest86 test 5 and 6, back down 5%, (HTT * 0.95), thats your max MEM speed.
CONSOLIDATE
The most important thing to keep in mind is CPU Speed is king. So now that you know your CPU speed from above, use it. Say it's Winchester 3000 and it's 2650Mhz prime stable and with it's 9 multiplier it needs 295 HTT to get there (9x295=2650)...NP right, but you got some value ram which only clocked to 210Mhz from your above testing. Well obviously you can't run the ram at 1:1 which would be 295Mhz, you must use a mem divider. You can use the memory divider (mem setting) to get as close as possible to your mem max found above.
This is the rough way to calculate IE close enough..
Memsetting setting
200 = HTT Mhz
183 = HTT x .90 = Mhz
166 = HTT x .83 = Mhz
150 = HTT x .75 = Mhz
133 = HTT x .66 = Mhz
100 = HTT x .50 = Mhz
What can my 210Mhz memory run in this config?
295 x .83 = 244 = not a chance
295 x .75 = 221 = not quite
295 x .66 = 195 Yes, but slow.
You have two choices, try and tighen timings and run 195 which is perfectly OK choice. Or Change CPU multiplier and start over. Ideally you want for max CPU and memory to coinside...Does'nt always work the way you want... My Ballistix below is 245Mhz stable but I'm running less for more CPU speed which always wins. You should too.
To help you along in the "consolidate" phase user Gogar has made a niffty script found here.
Just put in those maximuns found under the "isolate" phase and it will spit out the best choices.
After you go though these steps , take notes, you'll become more familiar with the whole tweaking process (learn by doing) and will be able to dial in better frequencies, timings, voltages, and faster too. But this should get you pretty close to safe and optimal speeds
UPDATE: Dual core CPU stability testing
X2 is not any different than a single processor overclocking but for volts and when prime testing CPU(s) for stability:
Volts should not exceed 1.45 for safe operation!
Prime95
1. Make two folders with Prime95
http://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v2413.zip (http://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v2413.zip)
2. Starting two instances: Launch both instances from each folder and choose: torture test > small FFT's > click OK.
3. Next, launch taskmanager and set affinity of the first instance of prime to CPU 0 only. The other instance of prime to CPU 1 only.

what is HTT ? same as FSB ?
Are there any Sempron 64's na parang couterpart ng Venice na god steppings ? i heard some Sempron 2800 at 3100 reaching 2.6 to 2.7 ghz
at all Sempron 64's based on 90nm ? or yung may SSE3 lang ang based sa 90nm ? kasi may Sempron 64 na may SSE3 yun iba wala

i can't seem to find the multi controller, does it appear as cpu multiplier in the bios or is it labelled differently,
using the biostar 6100 m9 board w/ winchie 3200. I wasable to run at 2.4 but had to bring up my vcore by .10 otherwise i can't even run super_pi without errors.
could it be my ram? using geil value (blue) dc channel stocked at 2,5-4-4-8.
and what's a safe heat reading on amd64s?
thanks
-
how do you overclock aside from using the bios? maliit lang kasi oc capability ng bios ko. 200mhz-232mhz lang. may utility ba or software na puwede magamit?

Clockgen
-
i was able to detect my pll but there are no buttons for clock gen to change the settings for fsb, multiplier etc...
am using a sempron 2600 @ 1.8ghz and an ecs k8m800-m2 mobo w/ a generic 512 ddr 400 memory... i know it's the cheapest... just wont be satisfied until i get the limit on this... i've oc'd all my computers to their limit and i wont let this one pass... hehe...
-
hi .. maybe you guys could help me out in owerclocking my rig?
A64 3000+ (venice) (stock HSF)
MSI K8N Neo4
2x512 DDR400 (dual-channel mode)
PowerColor ATI X700EZ 256/128
120GB HDD
LiteOn DVD-Writer
.. thanks .. :)

Hmmm...
Overclocking needs basic knowledge of some features of the mobo, memory, etc.
Distro does not recommend it that's also void your warranty. But, if you really does.. so, go on....
In MSI, to many option to OC that mobo.
but be sure that your adjustment does not exceed the limit which stated in the manuals... then same as the other computer parts.
-
any idea how to OC my rig? one that would be stable and that my stock HSF would be able to handle ?
-
ok yang rig mo. pwedeng pwede pang-OC. have you tried anything yet or is this your first time OCing?

haven't tried anything yet .. kasi newbie ako sa pagdating sa OC .. pero gusto ko talaga syang matutunan .. >:D

i'm a bit clueless in what CPU ratio should i use and what setting should i use .. coz by default the CPU ratio is set to "Adjust startup" .. also, the setting that i did with the memory is set to default (200MHz) but i've changed the Memory Timing to 1T ..
what would be the advisable setting should i use?
i tried using the 250 FSB with 4x HTT .. nag-boot naman yung PC ko but still clueless kung tama or mali yung nagawa ko ..

^_^ thanks! :happy:
-
hahahah... di ko alam ginagawa ko....
naninibago sa bios...
hahaha
bahala na.. i'll post some screenies in a little while..
can anyone point me which softwares to use to check stability?
edit:
tried a bit of oc already...
currently at:
Bus Speed: 230MHz
Multiplier: 11x
HT Multiplier: 4x
core clock speed: ~2500MHz
i'm using a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ brisbane
clueless pa rin
hahahah
hopefully i'm on the right track.. hihihihi
edit ulit:
(http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8789/untitled3qb8.jpg)
mababa pa rin yata... hihihihi..
target ko at least maka extra 25% (or 3GHz)... pero mas ok kung 50% (or 3.6GHz)
hahahaha.. ^_^
ayaw ko baguhin ang voltage.. sana kayanin
hahahahah
@shievary
try mo i-set sa 200MHz yung memory clock speed mo kung naka set sa 266 ngayon.. ^_^
kanin di rin nag-post yung akin.. panic mode..hahah.. naalala ko DDR2 667 nga lang pala ako.. hahahaha
-
@dom,
ayus yan fafi!!! :silly:
try for 3ghz!!! FTW
-
@dom,

hahah.. sige sige.. i'll try to isolate the limit of each component... tulad nung sa guide na pinost earlier... hehehehe... ^_^
target ko talaga at least 3GHz... hihihihi..
pero feel ko di kakayanin ng ram ko.. hahahahaha

Do I need extra power (PSU) so that I could OC my rig? how much? Currently, I have 350W PSU installed.
