Scalpers. The PS5 is now the best-selling console which very few gamers actually played on.

I know a few that bought it at 45-50k, will never succumb to those though, am still very happy with my ps4 and switch (and gaming pc), I remembered buying my PS4 2years after release, so I think i'll buy the PS5 after 2years din.

There is already word of a PS5 v2 coming out with cheaper components and easier to manufacture.

Next year pa ata yun. Shifting to TSMC 6nm.

https://hothardware.com/news/sony-playstation-5-6nm-refresh-coming-2022-report

That's like.... Being one of the first buyers of a band's album. And then they release a deluxe version. Sorry for the tito reference. Tito eh, i only know tito stuff.

Or... Buying the all-new (i personally think all-new is nonsensical as much as the term all-american. And why avoid the revised, tried and tested design to be part of the excitedly willing guinea pig batch) for the new model of a car? And then a few "redesigns" or "updates" are issued on the latter half of a gen's cycle. Some little issues are prolly quietly fixed as well.

------
Regarding gaming, am sorely tempted to touch my savings to get a 2021 asus rog. The specs are

 RYZEN 9 5900HX
16GB DDR4 RAM (8*2) UP TO 32GB
1TB SSD
8GB RTX3070
15.6INCHS FHD IPS 144HZ

109,999 SRP (107k for cash, 108k for debit.)  Hesitating coz am not sure if it'll be available 8 months later for 5 figures money.

Is the chip scarcity issue waning down or will get worse kaya?
Will never, ever buy a SONY ever again.

It's available in megamall and a few metro stores. For example:  https://web.facebook.com/groups/820932128067748/permalink/1811802782314006/

The jump in performance, especially coming from my 2019 lappy, really attracts me. What makes me gun shy is the prospect of seeing this thing cheaper by mid-level android phone price 10-14 months down the road.

My contact tells me there are limited units. I don't think that is sales talk this time around. What's going to happen 2-4 months from now? ~10k reduction in price? Same price or maybe even "magka ubusan" due to chip shortage and start of schoolyear demand just what happened last year?

I can't find the other pics to support my statement. I suspect, they removed the previous pics. But i swear, the price of my former target was like 86k, to 69k, to this final 63K.

Datablitz gave out another pre-order offer yesterday but according to the local PS group the slots disappeared within minutes of posting.

edit*

Game OnePH also opened a pre-order offer and again the slots were gone within minutes.

I got lucky during the 9th wave and got the disc version.

Based on my experience, GameOne PH will post 3 links for the preorder, one of which is redirected to their site. I got in on one of those during the 7th wave, but I went past the 2:05 PM time window last time, so I ignored that during this 9th wave, and went for another link, which pointed towards their Lazada store listing. Being in a more stable storefront, I was able to load funds to my prepaid CC, add to cart the disc version, check-out, and bag the order before the 2:05 PM mark.

So if you're still waiting after their 11th wave, my advice is to go for the Lazada link, but be quick on typing up their tricky passcode thingy.

Gameline was the very same store that has some stories of walk-in buyers just getting them with no PO.

The bundle that I got cost me P40,450, which includes one DualSense controller, all the cables needed, 3 PS5 titles (COD Black Ops Cold War, Spider-man Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank), and one PS4 title (Nier Replicant). Would've picked Ghosts of Tsushima DC instead of COD if I had a choice, but the pre-order craze was so time-sensitive that I never bothered checking.

If you could get a bundle like that, I'd say sulit na.
