Transcend 25M3 1TB External Hard Drive Review
« on: May 05, 2018, 06:03:06 PM »

Transcend has a healthy heap of storage solutions ready for every market segment, and you’ll never run out of options to choose from. And of course, another day, another product to review from the company. What we have now is the Transcend 25M3, a rugged 1TB external hard drive that spells for protection against the elements.

UNBOXING

In terms of packaging, the 25M3 follows the boxing signature of Transcend for most of its products. It’s shipped in a compact box with a white and red theme, which we’ve grown accustomed with ever since we started reviewing the company’s products.

There’s a clear cut on the box to show off the 25M3, giving it a touch of design for attraction. Once you open up the packaging, you’ll be met wit the 25M3 encased in plastic, and below it are some pamphlets for warranty information and other products, as well as the USB cable.

DESIGN

Now, if the 25M3 looks familiar, there’s a perfectly good reason why you’re thinking this way. It’s a perfect reminder of the company’s 25MC, which, we believe is the very same drive with the only difference is this one sporting standard traditional USB Type A plug instead of the the 25C3’s USB Type C.

Now, as we’ve mentioned, the 25M3 comes with protection against the elements to keep it safe and secured in a couple of scenarios. For one, it comes with military-grade resistance that complies with drop-test standards MIL-STD-810G 516.6 through its advanced three-stage shock protection system. We’ve had deeper look on the Transcend 25CK3 enclosure review, and it’s pretty robust for what it is.

CONCLUSION

To put things into perspective, Transcend is handing you out several options depending on your requirements as separate SKUs. Transcend isn’t making claims on numbers here for both the 25M3 and the 25C3, and we’d dare not to open it up to see what’s inside and compare by the fine print. But at the end of the day, it really boils down to what you need.

The Transcend 25M3 is ready for every a multitude of devices as standard, which would be enough to fill you in with moving your files back and forth workstations and other storage locations, and it does so without you having to worry about the elements. ‘nuff said, if you’re looking for a rugged external drive that can spell durability, the Transcend 25M3 will definitely be worth your time.
