Looks like PLDT doubled the bandwidth?

PLDT to local

A bit more than half speed going to Singapore

Upload speed gets a major nerf going to California

PLDT Fibr's been out for 3 days. Contractors came, found the junction box busted with 8 houses affected. Unfortunately they are only linesmen, a different contractor will replace the box.

^ seems quite common, it's the same issue here in our subdivision, one whole block lost internet. -- fortunately we are on the next block.

I doubt it's the junction box that is physically busted. The box is just an optical splitter. The fiber line feeding it was probably struck by a truck. Yes, it's quite common. A garbage truck can easily reach the low hanging lines. The contractor is probably not authorized to replace the common fiber cable.

Linesmen already checked it. The box got fried, likely taking out some of the cables. Some kids said they saw smoke coming from the pole a few days ago.

Then it's probably not a PON (passive optical network). Are you sure it's fiber?

meron 1699 na plan which is 200mbps.  and then there is the new 1399 na 50mbps lang pero includes cignal tv and unli  calls to 5 selected smart cellphone numbers.  meron din version na 1799 na 200mbps na.  check the pldt website.

nung nag downgrade kami we called.  and kung lampas na ng lockin period wala na extra charge to downgrade.  pero new lockin period nga sya which we do not mind kasi di naman kami magpapalit ng isp anytime soon

PLDT is being scummy right now, we have no internet since 2days ago, and every 24hrs they close the ticket -- I'm sure it's to avoid rebate -- I called twice now to have the ticket re-opened (so the counter still is on-going), still blink LOS upto now.

If you have an ongoing ticket with PLDT, best to check on it everyonce in a while if they are closing the ticket, don't let them create a new one, rather have the original ticket re-opened.
