litecoin are now the new thing, but with all the people jumping on the bandwagon it won't be long before it's dead too.

So, I have a raspberry pi that I'm not using right now and I'm toying with the idea of picking up a few ASIC miners. Is Bitcoin still a bad investment?

mining is not a good idea anymore unless you get asic miners in the terahash range.  the usb dongles won't cut it:  you'll go negative after paying for electricity.  unless, of course, you get power for free.  still, i'd say it's not worth it.

sell the raspi and buy btc, it's cheap atm.

Ah, not worth it then.

What's BTC? I can always just use the pi as a torrent server or turn it into a router.

BiTCoin!
The suggestion is to buy/trade in it as a speculative currency, rather than mining it yourself.

For BTC i think dedicated ASICs are the most cost-effective way to go now.

Mine Ethereum instead if you use your GPU, then buy BTC with it.

Yes, I watched it. It was less about Bitcoin but more on the world's monetary and banking system, its history and how fragile it really is.
