Help in finding a project car
« on: August 26, 2007, 06:28:54 PM »
greetings!  medyo off-topic talaga ito pero i badly need help.

i need a car for a project.  i have parts coming in from japan (engine and drivetrain from a lancer evolution 3) but i have no chassis.  car in question is the 1993 to 1996 model mitsubishi lancer.

for the past month i've tried looking and posting in the major mitsubishi forums (mymitsu and mitsulancer) and kahit sa ibang auto forums (autoindustriya, kotse.com, hondaclub) and i still haven't found a good car.  the cars i've seen are either 1)  too blinged-out, 2)  too shot, or 3) too far away (cavite, bulacan, laguna).

sa buyandsell, carfinder and tsikot naman mukhang buy-and-sell lang ang nagbebenta dun and the cars are reaaaaaly dodgy and expensive for their condition.

what i'm looking for is a car that had no major collisions,  fresh interior and good trim.  a few dents and fading paint is okay, basta wala lang rust.  cars needing engine and suspension repair are also good,  papalitan din naman kasi yun.

baka meron kayong lancer na naalagaan at pwede ibenta:  pm niyo naman ako please.

oh, pwede rin pala ang nissan cefiro a31 (1989-1993)

 :silly:

At that age, medyo mahirap na talaga maghanap with a fresh interior. Anyway, goodluck, and keep us posted. Interested din ako to do a car project in the near future as there is a junk car lot near my school.

BTW, I met some mechanics from Cebu who work for a used car importer there and they've been contracted to work at a used car dealer here in Japan. It seems hindi na ginagawa sa Pilipinas ang conversions but done here prior to shipping and they use purely OEM parts, so converted cars are not really that bad as some people make them to be.

Imagine what a new intercooler and possibly a change of gear ratios could do for this.
