hey guys, i'm planning to get a Coolpix 4500 soon along Quiapo. last ako nagtanong dun at Mayer Photo, it goes around 32K daw. you guys know of any other cheaper leads?

also, any big pros and cons to this camera based on your experience? i've essentially read a ton of reviews on it, and you can't go wrong daw with this 4MP digicam.

half-personal half-hobby use ang balak ko, and i've used manual SLRs in my college days on my Photography class.

i plan on getting extra stuff like compact flash cards, extra battery and possibly a wide angle lens. if you know anybody selling a package like this 2nd hand or bnew i would appreciate info as well.

thanks!

For the same amount in HK you can get a Fuji Finepix S602 Zoom

which is a prosumer ZLR and has most if not all the functions of a

full pledged DSLR

It's "meager" 3 million effective pixels should suffice and using

the extra 6mp res boost should yield you a file size near 6mp

size.

thanks for the comments.

i usually use the rule of thirds to frame my subjects. minsan yung subject mismo pang frame ko pag nag dadagdag ako ng sceneries sa picture. that way, i try to focus the viewer's eyes to something i think they should find interesting. mas even yung picture, hindi heavy on one side and i achieve some "eye travel" sa pagtingin sa picture.

i used to have my canon photography workshop (cdrom) installed in my computer. maganda sya pero compatible lang sya sa win9x (since i have winxp now, di ko na ni iinstall). dun ko nalaman yung mga ibang tricks in photo composition.

hehe, ok translate

i decided na i iso ko na kasi baka mag deteriorate na yung cd, since 97 pa itong cd!

the size of the cd image (or iso) is about 360MB kung sakaling interested ka in an electronic transfer nung cd. i could also write it sa isang cd and give the copy to you, that is if we meet somewhere. taga las pinas ako...

J,

some were disappointed sa coolpix 4500, lalo na yung shutter lag. mas ok pa nga yata yung 995 in that dept. i suggest the canon powershot g3, nice features and reviews. :) mga 39k last time i asked sa quiapo.

jo3, that's sacrilege!  what the heck for?

don't tell me you need more resolution because that won't

matter much in your picture taking style.

sorry dude, wala akong kilala sa HK. the fuji camera looks good though it's bulky and there's a lot of features in it that i really don't need because i'm only gonna use the digicam for non-profesional needs.

also, i would prefer nikon or canon cameras especially because of the lenses, and because i've stuck with both these SLR camera brands ever since i started.

ey markku!!!! what about the shutter lag? for 39K i would already have an extra compact flash card, extra battery, along with the 4500. one big plus sa akin din yung swivel-type design ng coolpix.

any comments on the Mustek MDC 3500?  cheap at PhP 7450.00 (rsun) for a 2.1 mp camera.  or is it not?

jo3pit,

Thanks for the linkage on the thread.

J,

Were you able to get your Coolpix 4500 already?  Feedback?  Where can I get it and how much is it going for right now?

Does anybody know where I can get the aforementioned camera.  My friends have also been telling me to go to Quiapo.  Is it safe to buy there?  Baka naman chop-chop na yung camera pagbili ko.
