why can't i access my drive c: and CD-ROM drives while in MS-DOS environment?

details, please...  are you using a floppy disk to boot to DOS?  what OS are you using?  is the HDD formatted in FAT32, NTFS or linux file system?

ah, currntly using NTFS file system, WINXP Home(no SP1).

using MS Millenium startup disk to boot

bro, this is the problem, millenium uses fat32 kaya di mo makikita yung ntfs drive mo.  with regards to the cd-rom, maybe you did not select boot with cd-rom support...  hth!  = )

MS-DOS does not read NTFS file systems.  Go to http://www.sysinternals.com to get a utility that can read NTFS even on DOS.

you would need another software to access your ntfs drive from dos, try google to see what softwares are available.  as for your cd drive, check your ME boot disk if it has the correct driver for your cd rom
