Android TV Box
« on: September 15, 2017, 11:49:24 AM »
guys I got me an SAST Q7 android TV Box here in china & most of the content is Chinese, what apps do you recommend that I install so that it can be used back home? what's the best plug-in for kodi?

I tried some app designed for the phone but some won't show well maybe coz of the resolution.

spec of the Q7

mobdro and terrarium are the ones i see often.  kung okay lang sayo subscription you could try netflix or iflix.  pero mga local and old contents lang ang meron sa iflix.  meron akong free subscription sa iflix because of the new fibr line.

interested din ako kung ano yung nilalagay sa kodi.  hopefully someone suggests a good plugin

I think I have to root my Box to install Google All!
I can't get to install google play service which most app/ player needs.
I hope Kingroot will work.

would be better if I can flash an English TV ROM for RK3229.

my android box came pre rooted when i bought it.  if you have aptoide app installed already it should have the apps that you need.  also, couldnt you just sideload the play store?  just dont forget to enable install from unknown sources

What's a good app for remotely controlling (in lieu of a dedicated Bluetooth keyboard, mouse) a generic Android TV box via phone?

All apps that I've Googled so far seem to work on specific smart TVs only.

I'm eyeing this one:

I finally settled on a Tanix TX3. S905, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage. 1.9k from Lazada. I hope it doesn't disappoint when it gets delivered.

Very happy with the TX3 as our first TV box. Currently using up the free month of Netflix. Video playback of DLed videos is good and supports more formats than our TV's built-in (USB) player. The more popular Kodi add-ons are already set up by default.

I don't have 4k content to test it though.

The only thing that worries me is the lack of ventilation holes.

Are there any apps I could use as wireless keyboard/mouse for this? Or is it better to purchase a dedicated air mouse remote with keyboard?

Yup. Voltage dropped to 2V. I knew the bundled power supply wouldn't last because it was too light - like there nothing but air inside.
